About the event

The sessions will consist of a one hour silent meditation, during which everyone will be sitting at a table.

The tables will be arranged into a circle.

In the middle of the circle will be another table with some arrangement of special things on it.

During the hour of silence, people can make art, if they want to.

Making art is not mandatory, but it’s welcomed if that’s what you feel like doing. When I say that art making isn’t mandatory, I absolutely mean it.

'Making art' can mean anything that doesn't make a lot of noise or much mess.

The only rule is that there should be no speaking during the hour of meditation and no phone activity for the entirety of the event. No Ipads either. No screens at all.

At the end of the hour, there will be a half hour during which people can share anything they would like to – whether it be visual art or writing they have made or thoughts and insights that occurred to them during the meditation … anything really. People will also be free to not share anything. There will also be tea during this part as well.

The intention for these sessions is to form a quiet space where people can come together and be - with the option to express creatively.

These sessions are not neccessarily about art, or meditation, or community, or spirituality, or self-improvement … Although we may encounter all of these things during the course of events. These sessions are about being creative in a peaceful group setting.

There will be no explicit instructions.

These sessions will just be a quiet space where people can come together and be – with the option to express creatively.

The room where the circle will take place is incredibly beautiful, with an enormous stained glass window, high vaulted ceiling and wooden floor. Also, there is one of the more astounding trees in the area directly in front of the church.
